THE 2022 MUSICAL LINEUP

Cory MorroW
Happiness has always come naturally to Cory Morrow. With his rollicking, soulful, feel-good Texas country, he has made thousands jump on tabletops, shimmy, scream, and suspend worries for almost two decades, like a honky-tonk pied piper––and he shows no signs of stopping. But these days, Morrow is also devoted to something more.
Morrow sings hard, proving his smooth, fiery drawl has only gotten better with age. The music revels in a life full of love and purpose, drawing on gritty rock, thumping gospel, and Morrow’s signature juke-joint country. Many of the songs address faith and relationships, both human and holy, with urgency, gratitude, and wonder. “I think there has always been a thread of spirituality in everything I’ve done––I’ve always been searching for something more,” he says. “But in the last five or six years, I’ve started to actually find it. And in the last three or four years, I’ve begun to come into really deep contact with it––to walk in it.”

Damn Quails
The Damn Quails have been a big part of the Texas/Red Dirt scene for years, backing up Jamie Lin Wilson, and performing with fellow Okies such as John Moreland, John Fullbright, Parker Millsap, Samantha Crain, and the Turnpike Troubadours. Their return from a 6-year hiatus has been welcomed by fans and fellow artists alike, and so will this new album.
If we’re being honest, The Damn Quails are not really a country band. In fact, Bryon White says, “We might be the least-country band to ever break out in Texas.” It’s more a rock project, but with a heavy emphasis on songwriting, and some country influences mixed in at times.

hooks & the huckleberries
Hooks & The Huckleberries deliver a powerful blend of country rock and soul music. Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico and founded in 2020 by singer Adam Hooks and guitarist Joshua Lee, the Huckleberries have quickly established a reputation for high-energy shows and hard work on and off the road. Rounded out by the Bonham-esque drumming of Dustin Hoag and passionate bass playing of Ryan Martino, the band immediately connects with fans at venues from road-side honky tonks to downtown rock clubs.
Their debut album, “So Far Gone,” released in 2021, has received regional and national acclaim. Driven by Hooks’ lyrical prowess and Lee’s blend of roots guitar styles, the album takes listeners on an adventure born out of the blue skies and grit of New Mexico. Organic, emotive, and full of natural chemistry, Hooks & the Huckleberries deliver a style we call “High Desert Country Music.”
